  1. My Mother
  2. Grandmother
  3. Aunt Rhonnie
  4. Daughter Amira
  5. Oprah
  6. Michelle Obama
  7. Barack Obama
  8. Marianne Williamson
  9. Maya Angelou
  10. Angela Davis
  11. Freedom Riders
  12. Martin Luther King
  13. Beyonce (Yeah she inspires me)
  14. My Dad ( for better and worse)

  16. My younger cousin Lauren Ashley
  17. Desiree Rogers
  18. Melody Hobson
  19. Amy Dubois Barnett (EIC of Ebony Magazine)
My list is really composed of strong African American Women who have made a way out of sometimes no way. Of course President Obama is on there because I am Team Obama all day everyday, but my dad made the list because he has inspired me for better or worse, when we have not been close he inspired me to prove him wrong and be better than what he offered me and we are getting along I have learned a great deal from him. 🙂

This weekend I have been thankful for…

After taking notice and becoming more aware of the things I am thankful for I am noticing things all over the place. This Friday and Saturday things that have tickled my fancy have included…

  • Someone letting you merge into the lane
  • Laughing hysterically with a co worker
  • Seeing a friend who you haven’t seen in a long time and catching up
  • Watching my daughter brush her teeth
  • Having my 13 year old cousin and 4 year old daughter do amazing cheer leading moves.
